We have always had close relationships with boutique Australian producers and have now extended our list of suppliers to include some fantastic food manufacturers and growers from overseas.

Steve Armour - Purchasing

Starting his hospitality career in the United Kingdom in the late 90's Steve travelled the world developing his knowledge of culture and food. He has worked on cruise ships around Europe, as a Head Chef in Queenstown New Zealand, as the Head Chef for Alpha Flight Services, Sous Chef for the Hyatt Regency as well as the Catering and Site Manager for The Southport School. 

Steve has been with Deluxe Foods since 2014 as the Operations Manager looking after all aspects of the business including Product Development and Supplier Relations. 

 

Alex Crew - Internal Sales

Initially influenced by classic cooking styles at an early age from family members in the industry and additionally broadened by experiencing Eastern & Western European cuisine as a teenager, Alex gained an ample range of tastes and experiences.

Heading into adulthood and further refining these tastes, Alex opened himself to more flavours and ideas that the world had to offer through International travel. Sprawling across 11 countries throughout Europe and indulging in what each destination had to offer, he found himself with a greater appreciation of the way food is experienced, as well as how each person enjoys their own individual tastes.

In the end all of Alex’s International travel, Kitchen-Hand positions and Front-of-House management experience has led him to Internal Sales at Deluxe Foods, where the abundance of quality and exotic items is always in demand.

  

Angie Sparrow - Sales and Marketing Coordinator              

Years of working in front of house hospitality roles saw Angie work at many high-end restaurants and bars throughout the UK. After years of travelling abroad she returned back to Australia and lived in Adelaide, South Australia, soaking up the food and beverage culture that the state had to offer. 

Learning all aspects of running Bars and Restaurants she then turned her hospitality experience into the Sales and Marketing aspect of the industry and after working at some of the Top Bars, Hotels and Design companies in South Australia she decided to return back to her home state of Queensland.

Working with Deluxe Foods since 2017 she has a wealth of product knowledge and prides herself on delivering the highest level of customer service, she is always available for any queries you may have. 

 

Linda Franz - Account Manager Retail & Food Service Brisbane

Linda has always had a close connection with the land and seasonal produce having grown up on a farm that reared cattle and grew pawpaw and bananas. After completing her chef apprenticeship in Brisbane in the early 90’s under the tutelage of Philip Johnson Linda made the first of many trips to Europe to expand her food and wine knowledge.

A strong affinity with the Slow Food movement saw her visit Italy on more than one occasion to attend Terra Madre and the Salone Del Gusto, a global meeting of small-scale food producers showcasing local food cultures and traditions.

A food career spanning over 28 years, including Head Chef roles at Simpatico, Harvey’s Bar & Bistro, Ecco Bistro and the Lyrebird QPAC, has given Linda an intimate knowledge of the industry and a practical understanding of the needs of chefs. As a chef her approach is simple, use great seasonal produce, good products and keep the food simple and flavoursome.

Linda has been working for Deluxe Foods since 2014, looking after both retail and food service clients, sharing her knowledge, experience and love of food, whilst delivering a high level of customer service.

 

Selena Quested - Account Manager Retail & Food Service Gold Coast, Northern NSW, Regional

Having travelled extensively throughout Europe and experiencing some of the world's best food and wine on offer, Selena returned to the Gold Coast over 6 years ago to open a gourmet delicatessen of her own.

Featuring in Gourmet Traveller, the "Top 50 food experiences in Queensland" and enjoying a great deal of both interstate press and TV coverage, the deli proved to be quite a destination for foodies and Chefs alike. 

Having stocked and loved the Deluxe products for years, it was a natural progression for Selena to move over to the wholesale side once she sold the business. Now servicing both retail and food service clients from Cairns to Mackay, the Gold Coast to Toowoomba and Northern Rivers her passion and enthusiasm is contagious.

 

Sam Richards - Account Manager Food Service South Brisbane

Growing up on a local farm, Sam was surrounded by food and producers from a young age. Finding himself in kitchens during high school he did his apprenticeship and used his qualifications to work around the world. 

Having eaten and drank his way around the world, Sam eventually found himself back in Queensland. 

A few years on, unexpected medical issues forced Sam out of the Kitchen world and into the Gourmet Supply world, liaising directly with some of Australia’s best producers and top importers. Sam now works closely with Brisbane’s best chefs and venues, ensuring the chefs can always find something with a point of difference for their menus whilst championing local Produce. 

 

Scott Gibbs - Account Manager Food Service North Brisbane, Sunshine Coast

Working as an Executive chef all over Brisbane saw Scott work at many high-end venues such as Price Waterhouse Cooper, Olivetto’s Restaurant and Caxton St Catering. He spent years working as a function manager in Singapore, Europe and throughout the United States of America.

His passion for people and food is contagious and his combined years of experience managing large kitchens makes him the perfect Food Service Account Manager.

 

Tim Hickey – Warehouse & Delivery Driver

Working for Deluxe since 2014 Tim has years of experience with warehouse logistics and product knowledge. He worked as Deluxe's #1 driver for many years and loves being out and about delivering goods and meeting with customers
